Why free?
Because the platform is new. The first year of members shapes what gets built, and that's worth more than the first year of revenue. What I ask for instead is the newsletter subscription and a year of real use of the platform.
The Sustainable Practice is CompoundCraft's companion. Same subject, two forms. The newsletter is where I reason about this moment in public: senior careers, independent work, the work around the work. The platform is that reasoning made operational, as an assessment, market evidence, and techniques. I want to hear what lands and what falls short, and today that conversation happens on the newsletter: comments and replies on every issue, and I read them.

How the free year works

No credit card. Nothing charged automatically, then or later. At the end of the year your access pauses, and you decide whether the platform earned a renewal.
Can't I just do this with AI?
Yes, partly, and you should. AI is good at drafts and research legwork. What it can't give you is evidence that has been gathered and checked, techniques distilled from decades of lived practice, and peers at the same moment you're in. The expensive lessons were never information problems.
Do I need the code before taking the assessment?
No. Take the assessment whenever you're ready. The code matters at activation, after you've seen your results.
What happens when the free year ends?
Your access pauses. Nothing is charged. If the year earned a renewal, add payment and continue. If it didn't, you walk away having paid nothing.
The assessment is free, and for some people the results are all they need. Taking it is where to start.
